Generation: Like
In a desperate bid for acceptance in the social networking era, the ‘like’ button wins hands down. Thankfully, this new way of ranking popularity has graced our documentary. AVID (the major editing platform in the film/tv industry) have liked our documentary Generation Me! (click here to see what they like!) Edited using the software, I think its fair to say its a tribute to their tools to help us tell our story. How’s that for web presence?!

Generation: Get it out there!

There’s one element that as independent filmmakers we tend to forget; getting your work seen. Self promotion and raising awareness has literally been placed in the palm of our hands. Social media has shaped the way we digest information and absorb films so why not make it accessible?! After all, there is no point slaving away, tweaking your craft and art if you aren’t wanting to communicate to others. That’s why we’re all in this right? As filmmakers? To influence and challenge human nature; that’s something that documentaries and factual films can do in abundance.

@generationmedoc

We will be tweeting - ironcially - through Twitter! The final element of post-production. The weight of the deadline has been lifted and the feeling is almost overwhelming when months of preparation come together.

Throughout this blog we will share everything we have found whilst researching and bringing together this short film, which, will surely generate questions and should be made into a feature. One thing’s for sure as long as I conform to the psyche of the era I am born in; Generation Me is here to stay- and I will share with you the inspiration, concept, filming process and our discoveries. Stay tuned, it’s an exciting time for all of us!
